Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker, today unveiled a Brazilian Portuguese language channel on the home of its intellectual capital, the WillisWire blog. The new online platform will allow Willis experts from across the group to share their insights on the full spectrum of risks affecting local and international Brazilian businesses.
Launched in September last year, WillisWire has published more than 192 posts from some 41 Willis bloggers on traditional and emerging risks (including cyber, political and Directors & Officers liability) that impact industries as diverse as renewable energy, financial services and aerospace.
The blog, which is aimed at business, the wider insurance industry and the media, currently attracts a global monthly readership of 8,878 on average, achieving a total of 71,027 page views in the first eight months of its existence. Willis shares all WillisWire posts through its Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts, with select posts shared by the company’s other social media properties including:
- Willis Group on YouTube
- Willis Re on Twitter
- Willis Property Pro (FINEX) on Twitter
- Willis Networks on Twitter
- Willis Human Capital Practice on Facebook
- Willis Personal Lines on Facebook
- Insurance Noodle on Facebook
- Willis China on Weibo
WillisWire’s success has led Willis to explore ways of expanding the reach of the highly topical content to clients and prospects beyond the English-speaking world. As one of the Group’s biggest and most successful emerging market operations, Brazil has been chosen as the first foreign language market that WillisWire will cater to. Portuguese-speaking Associates can access the new channel directly, or subscribe to an RSS feed to get all Portuguese posts delivered right to their desktop.
José Otávio Sampaio, CEO of Willis Brazil, which comprises 300 Associates in four offices, said, “Robust economic growth and a burgeoning middle class are fuelling the business boom in Brazil. This rapid development means that companies will be increasingly exposed to new risk frontiers and WillisWire is one of the ways we as brokers, can be at the forefront of advising our clients on how to prepare for and mitigate against these new threats.”
Julie Roth, Manager, Digital Marketing and Communications for Willis, said “We're tremendously excited to be expanding WillisWire into its second language so soon after its launch. It's truly a testament to the breadth and depth of expertise here at Willis that the site's content has been embraced so quickly by readers.”
