Aon plc, the leading global provider of risk management and human resource solutions, today announced the appointment of Michael O'Connor as Chief Operating Officer for the firm's risk solutions businesses, including Aon Risk Solutions and Aon Benfield. In this capacity, O'Connor will oversee the development and execution of the operational agenda across the risk businesses to put Aon in a stronger position to deliver value for clients."Mike is an exceptional leader for our firm and we are very excited to have him in this expanded role," said Steve McGill, group president, Aon plc and chairman and CEO of Aon Risk Solutions. O'Connor, who joined Aon in 2008, previously held the role of chief operating officer for Aon Risk Solutions. He will continue to report to McGill and also will remain as a member of the Aon plc Executive Committee.
This appointment is effective immediately.
