John Howard, chief executive officer of Crump Group, Inc. (CGI) announces the addition of Scot Parnell to Crump's executive team, effective Feb. 16, 2010, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Parnell replaces Dave Obenauer, who became President of CGI’s Property & Casualty Insurance Services division last month.
"Adding a person of Scot’s caliber strengthens our executive team. His significant financial knowledge, background and mindset as CFO of a prominent publicly-traded company are particularly well-suited to lead us through our next phase of growth. We look forward to integrating him into our organization.”
Parnell joins CGI from The Student Loan Corporation (NYSE STU), in Stamford, CT, where he most recently served as chief financial officer since 2008. Parnell rose through a series of finance positions at STU and Citi (STU’s majority shareholder) since joining in 2001. Prior to Citi, Parnell worked at MetLife and Browning Ferris Industries, in NY, having begun his career with Arthur Andersen in Houston, TX.
Said Howard, “Adding a person of Scot’s caliber strengthens our executive team. His significant financial knowledge, background and mindset as CFO of a prominent publicly-traded company are particularly well-suited to lead us through our next phase of growth. We look forward to integrating him into our organization.”
Commented Parnell, “I am pleased to be joining the Crump executive team at this exciting stage. The company carries a long heritage of stability and prestige in the markets it serves, providing a solid platform to support growth initiatives.”
Parnell received his bachelor of business administration from the University of Texas and an MBA from Columbia University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He lives with his family in Connecticut and will be relocating to New Jersey to work from CGI’s corporate offices in Roseland, NJ.
