Zurich Expands Accident, Health Unit to Affinity Market

Zurich's North America Commercial division announced its accident and health unit has entered the mass consumer market with offerings of accidental death, dismemberment and travel assistance products.

The Shaumburg, Ill.-based company said this is a first tier offering that will be expanded to include bundled products and services customized to a variety of special consumer group needs.

The company’s accident and health group is a nationwide team developing and marketing Zurich’s portfolio of products, which also includes occupational accident, statutory disability, medical stop loss and managed transplant services.

Bryan Salvatore, head of accident and health for Zurich, said in a statement, “By leveraging our experience, knowledge and service capabilities in the group accident business, and with the addition of experienced mass consumer professionals to our staff, we are able to develop and deliver the products and services consumer groups need.”
