AXA developed the app after learning that only one third of drivers polled said they knew what to do should they be involved in an accident. AXA says the application is the best way to help out drivers.

The application is currently available from the Apple iTunes app store and is all set to help motorists involved in an accident survive the traumatic and often baffling process of dealing with details at the scene of the crash in addition to help the whole claims process run more smoothly, say AXA representatives.

Company representatives are calling the application ground-breaking and trouble-free, and say it is one of the first of its kind in the UK and is available free to both AXA customers and non-customers.

AXA says the application features a host of other benefits. For example, the iPhone app can be used to store personal and policy information, capture photos of any damage following an accident, enter details of any witnesses and exchange details with other drivers. Also, by means of using GPS technology, the app will record key information about the accident such as the location and the time. AXA clients using the app have an additional exclusive feature allowing them to locate and contact the nearest approved repairer to come and pick up both car and driver, if the vehicle is undrivable.
