The Hartford Names Lisa Morgan Senior Vice President of Middle Market Commercial Insurance Business

The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. announced that it has appointed Lisa Morgan to the position of senior vice president of its Middle Market commercial insurance business. Morgan, who is succeeding Sean Fitzpatrick, will report to Commercial Markets President Juan Andrade.

In her new role, Morgan will lead The Hartford's $2 billion Middle Market commercial insurance unit that serves the property and casualty protection needs of midsize businesses and other entities, such as educational institutions and industry associations.

"Lisa's experience and expertise, ranging from claims and talent development to underwriting and agent-broker relationships, will help us capitalize on a strategic market opportunity for The Hartford."

Morgan, who most recently served as vice president of Middle Market operations, joined The Hartford in 2001 where she held positions of increasing responsibility in the company's property & casualty Claims department. Morgan joined the Middle Market team in 2005 as assistant vice president of planning and development, where she was instrumental in driving initiatives aimed at streamlining business operations, increasing underwriting productivity and improving ease-of-doing-business for the company's agents and brokers.

Prior to joining The Hartford, Morgan spent six years in private law practice. She received a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University and a B.A. from Fairfield University.

Middle Market is one of the business lines of The Hartford's Commercial Markets Group, which provides risk protection, group life and disability benefits for business customers of all sizes. The Middle Market unit serves midsize businesses with property and casualty insurance products such as workers' compensation, property, automobile, liability, umbrella and marine coverage, as well as loss control and claims services.
