Marsh and Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers Back TRIA Extension

Marsh Inc. presented on Thursday testimony before a Congressional Subcommittee supporting the 10-year extension of the Terrorism Risk and Insurance Act (TRIA), as well as a number of refinements to the Act that would serve to benefit businesses in the U.S. seeking protection from the financial consequences of acts of terrorism on the country’s soil.

Managing Director and leader of the firm’s Terrorism Specialty Practice Jill Dalton testified on behalf of the firm and The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers to the House Financial Service Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises. The testimony is based on data which reflects increasing demand for terrorism insurance across a wide range of industries throughout the U.S.
