Marsh Names Jean Demchak to Lead Public Entity Practice

Marsh, a leading insurance broker and risk advisor, announced on Monday that Jean Demchak, global leader of the Education Practice, will assume additional responsibilities as leader of the firm’s Public Entity Practice.

A professional in risk and insurance services for 26 years, Ms. Demchak has distinguished herself in the education sector. This year, she was appointed to the board of directors of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA), for which she has chaired numerous committees during the course of her career.

Early in her career at Marsh, Ms. Demchak began focusing on higher education and the public sector, working on the development of consortia or group programs, innovative product designs, and customization of coverage documents.

Worldwide, Marsh's Public Entity Practice has more than 300 professionals, whose experience encompasses the spectrum of governmental and insurance risk management. These specialists are experienced practitioners in public entity risk management, insurance brokerage, self-insurance pool formation and administration, and alternative risk financing programs.
