The firm said that since its opening in 2005 the Madrid office it has grown significantly and this performance, together with the attractive long-term growth prospects in Spain, has led to the opening of the new office.
Markel International España focuses on general liability, professional liability, directors' and officers' and professional indemnity lines. The Barcelona office, led by Carlos de Puig, will offer the full range of company products and also handle the production of documentation.
Among Mr. De Puig's duties will be to reinforce the company's presence in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. He will also support the company's relationship with brokers.
