K&B Underwriters, a national insurance Program Administrator and wholesale brokerage serving agents and brokers for senior living facilities, today announced it has named Paul Marshall as Director of Senior Living Programs. Marshall has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry, largely focused on Long-Term Care and Healthcare Professional Liability (LTCHPL) insurance."Paul has worked in all aspects of the senior care business, from retail sales to underwriting, program administration to risk management, and is an industry-recognized specialty insurance authority," said Bryan Baird, President of K&B Underwriters. "His experience is a perfect marriage of senior living sales and senior living facility Professional Liability expertise, and we're fortunate to have him join our team."
Marshall most recently served as Vice President of Healthcare Underwriting at American Safety Insurance, where he was hired as the change agent to revitalize an acquired LTC-HPL program. Here, he was responsible for overall business profit and growth strategy including oversight of operations, sales, underwriting, risk management and claims.
Prior to this post, he served as Director of Insurance Business Development at PointRight Inc., where he generated new business and managed client/partner relationships including underwriter, broker, legal defense and insured clients. In earlier years, Marshall served as Vice President of Healthcare Liability Programs at Neace Lukens, where he played an integral part in developing a nursing home liability captive program in 2001 as a solution to the liability crisis. The first 13 years of his career were spent in direct retail insurance agency sales and operations management.
