Previously the department's director of insurance accounting policy, Mr. Fritsch’s new role includes advising the superintendent and first deputy on accounting policy as well as coordinating with regulators in other states, the National Assn. of Insurance Commissioners, and officials from other countries on department policies and global issues.
Mr. Fritsch began his career with the New York State Insurance Department in 1979, and represents the NAIC and United States at the International Assn. of Insurance Supervisors, which sets solvency and solvency-related standards, including those related to risk management, internal models and adequacy of capital.
