This action is a result of a dispute over brokerage fees for placing reinsurance coverage.

According to a report from Goldberg Segalla, based upon the allegations contained in the complaint, it appears an employee of John B. Collins Associates, an acquired subsidiary of Guy Carpenter, left Collins for Lockton Re. Following his departure, a number of clients that had placed reinsurance coverage through Guy Carpenter left the company for Lockton Re.

According to the complaint, Guy Carpenter did not receive all of the brokerage fees owed based upon the procurement of reinsurance coverage, and is seeking recovery based claims of conversion, tortuous interference with contract and unjust enrichment.

A Lockton Re spokesperson commented: "We disagree with the assertions made in this commercial dispute, and will respond appropriately through the courts."

No one at Guy Carpenter was unavailable for comment.
