The three companies — Peck & Peck Inc., Green Cross Managed Health and Depawix Health Resources Inc. — had been under investigation earlier this year. The department said the companies were selling policies through insurance agencies as employment opportunity with Depawix, which provides medical benefits.
According to the department, groups and individuals that wanted to participate in the Green Cross health program would have to be dually employed by Depawix in addition to other employment they might have.
“Unauthorized sale of insurance products are serious violations of the law,” said Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty.
The agencies have 10 days to report all policies to Florida residents. They have 30 days to appeal the order.
