Fleischer Joins Argo Group as E&S Segment Chief Underwriting Officer

Michael Fleischer has been named chief underwriting officer of the Excess and Surplus Lines segment of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd., announced Argo today. In his role, Fleischer will work work closely with E&S segment businesses Colony, Argo Pro and Argo Specialty to provide strategic underwriting guidance for maximum returns.

E&S President lou Levinson said he's "pleased Mike has chosen to join Argo Group," noting that Fleischer brings to the table more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Say Levinson, "Mike brings both extensive underwriting experience as well as an in depth knowledge of the excess and surplus lines business."

Fleischer, who will report to Levinson, will be based in Argo Group's Atlanta office. He joins Argo Group following nine years with ACE. Most recently, he worked with ACE Westchester Specialty Group's casualty division as chief underwriting officer and prior to that, as VP of ACE Bermuda's liability underwriting division.

Prior to joining ACE, Fleischer worked for Chubb Group of Insurance Companies for 15 years in various underwriting management positions, including that of liability manager for Europe, based in London. He also held various underwriting and marketing positions for seven years at Crum and Forster Insurance Companies.

Fleischer holds a degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.
