The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) has announced the appointment of Gary C. Petrosino, executive vice president of Chubb & Son and  Western U.S. Territory Field Officer for Chubb, to the foundation’s national board of governors. The IICF combines the collective resources and talents of the insurance industry to give back to communities through grants, volunteer service and leadership.

“Chubb has been a valued long-term supporter of the industry foundation. We are very proud to welcome Chubb’s participation on the national board of governors through Gary’s leadership. Gary brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the national board and will provide valuable guidance as we continue to expand the IICF domestically and internationally,” said Bruce Basso, chairman of the board of governors.

Mr. Petrosino boasts a long and distinguished 30-plus-year career, having served in a variety of field management positions. Since joining Chubb in 1978, Mr. Petrosino headed the New York zone marine operations (1986-1989), served as the Albany, New York, branch manager (1989-1993) and was the Latin American zone officer (1993-2004). Currently, Mr. Petrosino holds the title of Western U.S. Territory Field Officer, overseeing field operations for the Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles and Minneapolis regions.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Petrosino had been a philanthropic leader within the insurance industry. Previously serving on the IICF’s Western Division board of directors, Mr. Petrosino helped the IICF to establish the Los Angeles-based Club100 Dinner. The Southern California dinner brings together industry leaders to raise funds and awareness for nonprofits meeting local community needs. Now in its eight year, Club100 has raised over $372,000 thanks to Mr. Petrosino’s vision and Chubb’s continued community commitment. Mr. Petrosino has also been a dedicated supporter of other distinguished nonprofits, such as the City of Hope and the Metropolitan YMCA of Los Angeles.
