Mr. Scherer has managed large legal, compliance and operations staffs in reinsurance and financial
services organizations over the course of his distinguished career. Most recently, Mr. Scherer worked for seven years at Swiss Re Group where he served as Special Litigation Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. While at Swiss Re, he also served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the Financial Markets Division and Group Deputy General Counsel. Prior to Swiss Re, Mr. Scherer worked at Morgan Stanley in New York as Compliance Director and Managing Director, and in Hong Kong as Compliance Director, Litigation Counsel and Vice President for Morgan Stanley Asia Limited. Mr. Scherer served in the U.S. military, with his last posting as aide-de-camp for the Commander of the Second Armored Division (Forward) in Garlstedt, Germany. He is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a J.D. Degree from Columbia University’s School of Law.
