The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers announced late last week that Cheryl Matochik has been named Vice President of Strategic Resources & Initiatives. In this new role, Matochik will blend the strategic planning of The Council’s resources and programs with driving the next generation of content initiatives.
“Brokers today are sophisticated consultants providing collaborative, complex problem solving to manage client risk,” said Ken A. Crerar, president/CEO of The Council. “The need for them to draw on multifaceted forms of knowledge and business intelligence resources drives The Council to think ahead of the curve and provide color commentary on challenges and opportunities which elevates our members and their competitive advantage. The future of how we develop those strategic resources is among The Council’s biggest opportunities and we’ll look to Cheryl to engineer this area for us.”
Matochik spent the last five years as director of strategic initiatives in the Office of the President where she developed and directed the mission, goals, objectives and implementation of The Council’s new programs and initiatives. She is a 2001 graduate of West Virginia University where she earned a B.S. in journalism with a concentration in international and comparative politics. Before joining The Council, she worked at a technology solutions firm in New York and an international advertising firm in Atlanta.
Matochik was named to this position after Nicole Allen took a new role at Swiss Re as Senior Vice President/State Regulatory Officer-Direct Commercial Insurance.
