Recently elected, Jones took the Oath of Office as California’s fourth elected Insurance Commissioner January 3, 2011. As Commissioner, Jones leads the California Department of Insurance and is responsible for regulating California’s insurance industry. Jones served in the California State Assembly from 2004 through 2010 prior to his election as Insurance Commissioner. During such time, Jones chaired the Assembly Health Committee, the Assembly Judicial Committee and the Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services.

The IICF Annual Benefit Dinner provides an opportunity for insurance professionals from across the industry to come together in a united philanthropic effort, raising vital funds for local nonprofits. Proceeds from the evening will benefit multiple non-profit programs through the Foundation’s community grants program. To-date, the Industry Foundation has contributed over $17 million and 140,000 volunteer service hours to hundreds of community nonprofits.
The 2011 dinner will honor Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company’s Heritage ProgramSM for their industry leading role in the realm of philanthropy. Accepting on behalf of the program will be Fireman’s Fund President and CEO Michael LaRocco.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation will also be recognized during the evening for their leadership in pediatric cancer research. John Bender, President, Allied World Reinsurance is serving as Chairman of the IICF Annual Benefit Dinner.
