Andrew Beazley, deputy chairman of Beazley P.L.C., has died at age 57 after a battle with cancer. He was co-founder of the company and its chief executive for twenty two of its twenty four year history.

He previously served on the Chairman’s Strategy Group at Lloyd’s of London and as a member of the Lloyd’s Market Board, according to London-based Beazley.
In a statement, Nick Furlonge—Beazley’s director of risk management, who co-founded the company with Mr. Beazley in 1986—said: “Beazley Group has grown and prospered beyond our wildest dreams, but it has remained a close-knit company.
