American CollectorsAmerican Collectors Insurance, a national provider of insurance for collector vehicles and collectibles, is hosting a National Collector Car Appreciation Day event from 4-7 pm on July 12, 2013 at the company's headquarters in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Published on July 8, 2013

The event is part of a nationwide fourth annual National Collector Car Appreciation Day (NCCAD). The company's event features a showcase of collector vehicles owned by American Collectors policyholders and other collectors. Highlights include a visit from the New Jersey chapter of the National Corvette Caravan, local charities with ties to the hobby, and collector cars ranging from antiques to exotics (including a specially featured 1965 Phantom Bizzarrini P538).

Insurance professionals and collectors are invited to attend the event. RSVPs for attendance can be made at AmericanCollectors.com/NCCAD. Collectors are welcome to bring their vehicle on a first-come, first-park basis starting at 3 pm to the event at 496 Kings Highway North in Cherry Hill.

"The car hobby is one of America's greatest and best traditions, and the people involved in it demonstrate everything from American ingenuity to love for history to passion for collecting," commented Jill Bookman, CEO of American Collectors Insurance. "The past several months, especially, have demonstrated the strength and resilience of the car hobby following the devastation of Superstorm Sandy, and a celebration is definitely in order."

"The people here at American Collectors hear great stories every time we pick up the phone to talk to a car collector. This celebration event is a small way to recognize the great respect we have for America's car hobbyists while also supporting hobby-related charities. We especially welcome insurance agents to this fun event as a way for them to experience the passion and pride of collectors for their most-prized possessions: their collector vehicles," Bookman concluded.

Local charities participating are:

-- The Road Home, a non-profit organization that helps veterans find training and employment opportunities in the automotive restoration industry.
-- Carz 'N Toyz, which collects toys and monetary donations for children in the pediatric ward of southern New Jersey's Virtua Hospital.

Insurance agents around the country can visit the website semaSAN.com/CCAD for a list of NCCAD events to participate in locally.

NCCAD celebrates the role that classic car restoration and collection plays in America. It was created by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), an automotive trade association whose members make, buy, sell and use specialty parts and accessories for collector cars and other vehicles.

American Collectors Insurance is teaming with Rides.com to present the event, which will include food and music. Rain date is Saturday, July 13, from 12-3 pm.
