Ace Group Hires Former Hartford Veteran for Senior VP Position

The ACE Group of insurance and reinsurance companies today announced that Jim Hageman, a former executive at The Hartford, has been appointed Senior Vice President, Claims for global personal and small commercial insurance.

Mr. Hageman will be based in Basking Ridge, N.J., and will report jointly to Juan Andrade, Division President, ACE Global Personal Lines and Small Commercial Insurance, and Frank Lattal, Chief Claims Officer, the ACE Group.

Mr. Hageman will lead the global claims operations for ACE’s personal and small commercial lines, including its high-net-worth personal lines and small commercial operations in the United States, ACE Private Risk Services and ACE Commercial Risk Services®.

With more than 20 years of claims leadership experience in both personal and commercial lines of business, Mr. Hageman has an established track record of transforming claims organizations to deliver consistent, high quality performance.

“Jim’s leadership and experience will allow us to further strengthen ACE’s claims organization as we continue to expand our businesses both within the U.S. and abroad,” said Mr. Andrade.

Before joining ACE, Mr. Hageman served as Vice President of Continuous Performance Improvement at The Hartford, where he was responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing execution of the multi-line Property and Casualty Quality Assurance and Compliance programs for the claims operation. His contributions led to significant improvements in claims accuracy, cost containment and service. Prior to joining The Hartford in 2006, Mr. Hageman held several multi-state claims leadership positions at Progressive Insurance Company since 1992.

Mr. Hageman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing/Communications from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also holds the Six Sigma Executive Green Belt certification.
