Rick Morgan, a technology and marketing leader in the independent agency channel, has joined Work At Home Vintage Experts (WAHVE) as senior vice president of marketing.
WAHVE, formed in 2010, is an innovative talent solution that engages vintage insurance professionals "phasing" into retirement who work remotely on a contract basis for insurance firms.
Morgan, who served on WAHVE's advisory board from its inception until 2014, also helped guide WAHVE in his most recent role of senior vice president of Aartrijk, a marketing firm specializing in the insurance industry.
"Rick's keen understanding of the industry and his insights into marketing and the digital world are strong assets for WAHVE," said Sharon Emek, Ph.D., CIC, CEO and founder of Work At Home Vintage Experts (WAHVE). "Rick will help guide the next phase of WAHVE's online presence."
"We are taking our proven model -- providing expert insurance professionals to insurance organizations -- and expanding it to serve greater numbers of jobs, firms and 'pretirees,'" commented Emek. "Every employer in the insurance industry faces the challenge of staffing their firms on a sustainable, flexible, cost-efficient basis - and WAHVE offers an alternative that suits workers and employers."
Morgan has long been active in developing the capabilities of the independent agency distribution system. An ambassador for the ACORD-Users Group Information Exchange (AUGIE) and long-time participant with IIABA's Agents Council for Technology (ACT), he co-chairs ACT's Strategic Future Issues Workgroup. A technology pioneer, he originated the concept of transactional filing of insurance policies while an independent agency principal in Colorado in 1975-85.
At Aartrijk since 2008, and with his own consulting firm, Morgan has served as advisor and strategist for the independent agency system focusing on technology, social media and marketing. He served on the board of directors of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York. He was interim CEO of Applied Client Network (formerly ASCnet) in 2009-10; SVP of marketing of Applied Systems; SVP of ConfirmNet; and owner of Automation Management Group, a technology and operations consulting firm that published The Automated Agency Report (TAAR) and co-developed Silver Plume, a provider of electronic insurance and risk-reference material.
Work At Home Vintage Experts (WAHVE) is an unparalleled, remote contract staffing solution for the insurance industry. Using a groundbreaking work-at-home model, WAHVE contracts skilled vintage insurance professionals who have recently retired or are "phasing" into retirement to insurance firms on a dedicated basis, part-time or full-time to meet their staffing needs. By outsourcing jobs to WAHVE, insurance firms are able to benefit from these qualified, experienced, and technologically-savvy pre-retirees by significantly lowering costs and improving profitability.
