RIMS and Chartis announced the formation of the Risk Management Hall of Fame (RMHF). The RMHF has been established to maintain the history and tradition of the field of risk management, and will serve as a means to recognize and honor those professionals who have made significant contributions to advancing the discipline.
Nominees will be considered among risk management professionals around the globe. New inductees will be selected by the RMHF Selection Committee, whose members include the president and executive director of RIMS, Chartis executives and three other industry leaders. Criteria considered by the Selection Committee for membership in the RMHF will include considerable contributions to the field; significant achievements, innovation and trend setting; demonstrated leadership, character and service; and the highest caliber of ethical and professional conduct. New members to the RMHF will be announced each year at the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition, with the first round of inductees to be unveiled Monday, May 2 at the 2011 conference in Vancouver.
“Chartis is pleased to serve as a co-founder of the Risk Management Hall of Fame, a unique opportunity to honor the accomplishments and dedication of those risk management professionals who exemplify the best in the industry. We look forward to awarding this recognition on an ongoing basis, to inspire other industry leaders to continue to achieve, innovate and further the field of risk management,” said John Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Chartis’ Global Commercial Insurance.
“RIMS has been part of the broader community of risk professionals for more than 60 years, and in that time we have seen a tremendous amount of talent and dedication pass through the profession,” said Mary Roth, ARM, RIMS executive director. “It is important to RIMS to recognize those who exhibit this level of commitment to the discipline, and over the years we have done so with various awards to individuals, as well as RIMS chapters. What we aim to do with the Risk Management Hall of Fame is take that a step further and give today’s risk professionals something to strive for.”
