For twenty years, Travelers has been providing property, inland marine, crime, general liability,automobile, workers compensation, and umbrella insurance to architects, engineers and surveyors across the country. As a national sponsor for one of the largest professional liability agency networks, as well as working through local independent agencies, Travelers' Architects & Engineers Specialty Practice has been the lead carrier with innovative coverage options and timely responsiveness to the needs of our insureds .
Travelers' appetite for architects includes civil, structural and landscaping architects. For engineers, civil, mechanical and electrical engineers are our specialty, along with geotechnical and phase 1& 2 environmental engineers. Many of our clients have a surveying department, particularly civil engineers working with municipalities, and we cover those employees, as well as stand alone surveying firms.
Travelers has addressed the unique coverage needs for architects, engineers and surveyors by developing coverage forms for property used primarily off-premises including business interruptions should that property get damaged, coverage for valuable papers, GPS systems, laptops, and waterborne property.
Coverage:
Property
Building, business personal property, Electronic Data Processing (computer) equipment, business income and extra expense at actual loss sustained valuation, fine arts, valuable papers and records, full limits for property off-premises and utility services direct damage coverage
Inland Marine
Available options include replacement cost coverage for property used off premises, including surveying equipment, GPS systems, theodolites and data stored on this equipment; property used underground or while waterborne, small watercraft, and business income for loss of any of this covered equipment
Crime
Built-in employee dishonesty coverage as well as ERISA coverage, with options to increase the limit of coverage based on the insured's needs.
General Liability
Notable elements include blanket additional insured with primary and non-contributory coverage, per project and per location aggregate, waiver of subrogation, unnamed partnerships or joint ventures, and coverage for advertising and personal injury for an insured's website
Automobile
Include owned and non-owned liability, plus available broad form named insured, hired car physical damage, waiver of subrogation, world wide hired car, blanket additional insured, and lease gap coverage
Workers Compensation
Available for a wide array of architects, engineers and surveyors
Umbrella
Coverage provided for broadened named insureds, newly acquired and newly formed organizations as allowed for in the underlying policies. Waiver of subrogation and worldwide coverage territory is also included. Limits of up to $5,000,000 are provided within National Programs, with higher limit options available through Travelers Excess Casualty.
All types and sizes of operations are welcome - existing clients include individual entrepreneurs generating minimum policy premiums to the largest architect and engineering firms in the country. Many of our larger firms not only need coverage for multi-state operations, but may also need coverage for projects around the world.
