Chartis' Executive Liability Division launches a Lawyers Professional Liability Program in conjunction with Administrators for the Professions of Delaware (AFPD).
AFPD is a leading Program Manager/MGA for professional liability programs nationwide.
Chartis' Executive Liability Division, in conjunction with Administrators for the Professions of Delaware, Inc. (AFPD), today introduced a comprehensive Lawyers Professional Liability Program designed for firms with 1 to 100 attorneys. This program provides broad coverage for attorneys and includes crisis management coverage to help mitigate damage to a law firm's reputation.
Attorneys need efficient and far-reaching protection against the damaging effects professional liability claims can have on both their finances and reputations. Our new program delivers that protection across the broad range of professional liability exposure that lawyers face," said Tracie Grella, President of Professional Liability, a unit within Chartis' Executive Liability Division.
The program, offered exclusively through AFPD, covers a firm's partners, employed attorneys, attorneys under contract from an outside agency and independent contractors for claims that allege wrongful acts, errors or omissions arising from the provision of legal services. Crisis management coverage, which is automatically included with the program, provides up to $50,000 toward the fees of a public relations firm to manage media communications in response to a professional liability claim. Coverage is also provided for claims alleging personal injury, fiduciary liability claims arising from legal services, claims arising from pro bono work, loss of earnings when attending a trial or arbitration, and defense costs incurred for disciplinary hearings.
AFPD has over 18 years of professional liability program management and claims handling experience, including over a decade of experience underwriting lawyer's professional liability insurance programs and managing these specialized claims. AFPD is a member of the National
Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd (NAPSLO) and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).
