Zurich will provide coverage through MiniCo Agri Insurance for agribusiness operations including commercial agriculture, farm and ranch, and specialty enhancement coverages for equine operations, dairies and vineyards beginning this month, with availability in select states. Additional states will be added throughout the remainder of 2012.

“We see the agreement with Aran and MiniCo as a great opportunity for us to expand our presence within the agribusiness industry,” said David Banks, executive vice president, Zurich Alternative Programs in North America. “MiniCo offers over 37 years of experience in program administration, and the company’s agribusiness team is seasoned and well known within the agribusiness industry. We believe Aran and MiniCo will be a good fit for us as well as agribusiness policyholders.”

Headquartered in Phoenix, MiniCo Insurance Agency, LLC, is a subsidiary of Aran Insurance Services Group, which is based in Rockville Centre, N.Y.

MiniCo’s Jim Henry, chief underwriting officer, and Kevin DeMoss, vice president of product development, both agribusiness specialists, will be responsible for the program’s management. Don Sedlacek, vice president, will oversee agribusiness claims.

“Aran’s partnership with Zurich is another example of our continuing efforts to identify carriers to assist in the development of new programs to benefit independent agents and policyholders,” said Tim Kenny, executive chairman of Aran Insurance Services Group.
