Schinnerer Launches Artisan Contractor E&O Policy

On the heels of recently launched professional liability and pollution liability policies for construction contractors, Victor O. Schinnerer & Company today announced the launch of yet another insurance solution for contractors. Schinnerer’s latest offering is an errors & omissions policy for specialty contractors.

The new contractor E&O policy geared towards specialty contractors, often referred to as artisan contractors, is tailored to the true exposures this type of contractor faces – namely claims involving faulty workmanship or the use of defective materials or products. Schinnerer’s existing professional liability and pollution liability policies are geared towards general contractors with a design liability exposure.

“We want to offer our artisan contractor policyholders an insurance solution that speaks to their unique exposures. Many artisan contractors don’t have a design liability exposure. Their biggest exposure is typically faulty workmanship claims, which our new E&O policy covers,” said Emerson Browne, Vice President and manager of the contractor program at Schinnerer. “We’re proud to offer a complete suite of policies that are tailored to the many types of contractors out there today.”

Like the contractor professional and pollution policies, the artisan contractor E&O policy is available nationwide on an excess & surplus lines basis through independent agents and brokers. The A rated insurance carrier for all of Schinnerer’s contractor offerings is CNA.

Schinnerer has underwritten contractor risks since 1991.
