Richard Suter Joins Great American Insurance Group as Divisional Vice President

Richard Suter at Great AmericanGreat American Insurance Group is pleased to announce the hiring of Richard (Rich) Suter as Divisional Vice President of the Property and Casualty Group’s Alternative Markets Division. In his new role, Mr. Suter will lead the marketing efforts for the Alternative Markets Division as well as oversee the development of the new Elite Program platform. This new distribution model will create an exclusive relationship with retail agents who have distinguished themselves as niche industry specialists handling retail accounts, with a focus on package business. He will be based in Hartford, Connecticut.

Mr. Suter is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. After serving in the Army and attaining the rank of Captain, he graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He practiced law privately for several years before joining St. Paul as an Underwriting Director of Small Commercial Accounts. Mr. Suter spent the past eight years as Assistant Vice President for The Hartford, where he was responsible for all business development in the company’s Captive and Specialty Programs Division.
