Tiene joined OneBeacon in 2003 as vice president for strategic initiatives for New Jersey Skylands Insurance Association, a reciprocal entity managed by OneBeacon,?before being promoted to Director for Sales and Marketing responsible for their eight-state personal lines group. He also represented OneBeacon on the advisory board of Trusted Choice®, the agency marketing organization of the Independent?Insurance Agents of America.

Tiene lead the property-casualty insurance industry’s trade group for eleven years and was instrumental in forming the Insurance Council of New Jersey, where?he served as president. In addition, he played a primary role in the development?and passage of the major legislative automobile insurance reform law in 2003 and?served as chairman of the state-mandated commission that handled the politically?sensitive issue of redrawing the geographic boundaries for automobile insurance?rating for the first time in sixty years.
The Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey, Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor and Business News, New Jersey, have also recognized Tiene for his?accomplishments. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Brain?Injury Association of New Jersey and Holy Cross High School in Delran, New?Jersey, and the Advisory Council of the Court Appointed Special Advocates of?New Jersey.
