Hub International Limited (Hub) announced today that it has acquired Knauff Insurance Agency, Inc. (Knauff), a Charlotte, North Carolina-based insurance brokerage firm.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The Knauff operation will become part of Hub International Southeast (Hub Southeast) and will continue to operate out of its existing office in Charlotte. James W. (“Skip”) Knauff, President of Knauff, will join Hub Southeast and will report to Allison Rhyne, President, Hub Southeast.
Knauff was founded in 1969 and is recognized as one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the Carolinas. As a full service agency, Knauff offers a diverse array of commercial property and casualty, individual property and casualty, surety bonds, and life and health products and services to a diverse client base throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. With over four decades of experience, Knauff is particularly known for its expertise in serving the insurance and risk management needs of the construction, education, and manufacturing industries and regularly hosts client workshops in partnership with Charlotte community leaders.
Knauff will now be able to offer their customers additional products, market relationships, and services as part of the tenth largest global insurance brokerage firm. This acquisition will significantly increase Hub Southeast’s presence in the Carolinas by adding Charlotte to its existing locations in Burlington, NC, Charleston, Columbia, Hilton Head, Bluffton, Myrtle Beach and Florence, SC.
