WAHVEThe independent agents' associations in Connecticut and Maine now offer their members remote staffing services provided by WAHVE (Work At Home Vintage Employees) on a preferred basis.
WAHVE provides experienced insurance professionals to agencies and other insurance firms on a remote outsourced basis for full-time, part-time, or project work. The Connecticut and Maine state associations are offering WAHVE's staffing services to their members with special pricing.
"The biggest expense an independent insurance agency has is its staff. Remote staffing provides a new option," explained Bill Hunt, chief sales officer of WAHVE. "Skilled, experienced insurance professionals working remotely offer quality work at a significant cost savings to the independent agency.
"Remote staffing is increasingly a choice for independent agency principals. Agencies that outsource to WAHVE are saving on costs of hiring, training, salary and benefits, payroll taxes, and office space. Agencies get access to insurance talent located in other parts of the United States, so they are no longer limited to insurance talent in their local market," Hunt added.
Warren Ruppar, president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Connecticut, stated: "Our mission as an agents' organization is to provide value for members. The availability of a staffing option at favorable terms gives every agency in the state of Connecticut a new opportunity to become more efficient and profitable."

Lisa L. Veregge, CAE, executive vice president of the Maine Insurance Agents Association, pointed out: "Agencies can expand their access to talent by using a remote staffing service. Many states including Maine are large geographically, but the availability of experienced, skilled insurance professionals can be limited. WAHVE offers a valuable new option for processing and other work for independent agencies."
The Independent Insurance Agents of Connecticut, which has represented independent agents for 113 years, represents more than 400 member agencies and their associates as well as their 3500-plus employees. The Maine Insurance Agents Association, founded in 1899, has 300 independent agencies as members. Both state associations are affiliates of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA).
WAHVE also offers remote staffing services on a preferred basis for members of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York and IBA West. WAHVE is a participating employer in AARP's Work Reimagined initiative and is listed as a work-at-home option by Clark Howard.
