The auto industry research and forecasting company TrueCar.com released a study that looks at the purchasing behavior of more than 200,000 car buyers from 2009 and 2010. The results show that boomers, which TrueCar defines as people who are between the ages of 46 and 64, are splurging on the dream cars that used to be out of reach.
“Baby Boomers’ buying preferences have shifted as their lifestyles have changed and they can now afford the luxury vehicles they had been desiring, but were unable to purchase due to priorities with raising a family,” said Kristen Andersson, an analyst with TrueCar.com.
The list of the top most popular models for baby boomer buyers are: Porshe Boxster, BMW 6 Series, Mercedes SL Roadster, Land Rover LR2, Mitsubisih Eclipse Convertible, Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet, Volvo C70 Convertible, Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback/Aveo 5, Mercedes M-Class Hybrid, and Chevrolet Corvette.
