Aon Appoints Bentele Global Crisis Management Practice Chief Broking Officer

Aon Risk Solutions, the risk management business of Aon Corporation has appointed Christof Bentele as the Crisis Management Practice’s chief broking officer. Bentele, currently global product leader for the practice’s recall and contamination solutions, will take on his new role with immediate effect.

Bentele has more than 25 years of experience in various management and decision making roles within the risk and insurance industry and is recognized as one of the world’s premier risk management experts on recall and contamination.

Bentele will continue to report to Paul Bassett, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions’ Global Crisis Management Practice, and will be responsible for the practice’s global broking strategy, key market relationships, broking excellence and execution, product development and innovation. As part of his new role, Bentele will oversee all Crisis Management Practice-related broking activities globally as well as in the firm’s London Global Broking Centre. He will retain responsibility as the global product leader for recall and contamination.

Bentele will be supported by Steve Dalchow, who has been appointed deputy CBO and head of special projects, and will continue to represent the Crisis Management Practice on Aon’s Global Broking Centre Board.

Having worked in the industry for more than 20 years, Dalchow is respected as one of the most experienced individuals in dealing with specific terrorism, war and political violence coverage. With extensive knowledge of the London, Bermuda and European insurance and reinsurance markets, Steve specialises in developing solutions, both consultative and risk transfer in nature, for clients affected by the perils of terrorism, political risk, kidnap and ransom, extortion and product recall and contamination.
