ASCnet Announces 2011 Education Events

Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet), the users group for Applied Systems agency management technology, is offering a broad educational program for 2011 that will culminate with the 26th Annual ASCnet Technology, Education & Networking Conference (TENCon) in September. According to Susan Carlson, ASCnet education director, the program features a variety of practical learning opportunities, from Webinars to in-person meetings.

 “Our Webinars are particularly popular with ASCnet members,” she says. “They provide opportunities for agencies and brokerages to increase staff knowledge and competency at a very reasonable cost.” The Webinars, which run throughout the year, cover everything from general office tools to highly specialized, management system topics. Live sessions can be viewed later for reinforcement and reference. On-demand Webinars also are available.

 Technical and workflow topics are covered in detail at ASCnet’s Education Summits, which are designed specifically for agency support staff. The two-and-a-half-day Summits offer detailed tracks that accounting professionals, service staff and system administrators can follow to learn how to do their jobs better. This year, Education Summits take place in Dallas and Sacramento.

The Dallas event is co-hosted by ASCnet and three local chapters: Houston User Group of Applied Systems, ASCnet Greater Texas Chapter and San Antonio Users Group of Applied Systems. The Sacramento Summit is co-hosted by ASCnet and two local chapters: Northern California User Group of Applied Systems and San Francisco User Group of Applied Systems. Registration is now open for both Summits; view the program schedule and register at www.ascnet.org/education.

 TENCon in September

 ASCnet’s signature event, its Technology, Education & Networking Conference (TENCon), will be held this year in Orlando, September 20–23. The event will feature classes designed to address virtually every facet of insurance agency and brokerage operations.

 “TENCon provides members an opportunity to learn and share best practices, find ways to maximize technology investments and form new business relationships,” Carlson says. “In addition, through TENCon Exchange, members can identify new products and services available from our many industry partners.”

 Dates and locations for ASCnet’s 2011 onsite educational offerings are:

 •  Education Summit: May 24-26, 2011, The Westin Park Central, Dallas, Tex.;

 •  Education Summit:  June 22-24, 2011, Doubletree by Hilton, Sacramento, Calif.; and

 •  Technology, Education & Networking Conference (TENCon):  September 20-23, 2011, Gaylord Palms Hotel & Convention Center, Orlando, Fla.

 In addition to events run by ASCnet’s national headquarters, local chapters will host more than 200 local training, education and networking events in their own communities this year.
