AIG Announces New Transition Planning Head

American International Group Inc. (AIG) has named Matthew E. Winter vice chairman of transition planning and administration. He succeeds Richard H. Booth, who has retired.

Mr. Winter will continue to serve as president and CEO of American General Life Cos., a position he has held since joining AIG in 2006. He was elected AIG senior vice president in March 2007.

AIG also named Jeffrey Hurd as AIG's vic president and chief administrative officer. Mr. Hurd will be responsible for AIG’s global operations and systems, corporate administration, and special projects.

Mr. Hurd will continue to serve in his role as senior vice president and director of asset management restructuring, in addition to his new role.
