Zurich, a leading writer of program business in North America, today announced that insurance broker Marsh U.S. Consumer, a service of Seabury & Smith, Inc.*, is the new administrator for its Programs & Direct Markets’ lawyers' professional liability program. Marsh will be the administrator for attorneys in Conn., Maine, Mass., N.H., N.Y., Pa., R.I., and VT.
“For over 20 years Marsh has clearly demonstrated its knowledge in the lawyers’ professional liability segment and is a well-respected administrator for legal malpractice insurance to law firms of all sizes,” states Damiano Servidio, head of professional liability for Zurich's Programs & Direct Markets business unit. “Factors such as these, as well as Marsh’s excellent customer service, helped shape our decision to work with Marsh in these states.”
“Like Zurich, Marsh has an appreciation of the many issues lawyers face during these uncertain economic times. Even the best attorneys can make mistakes, and all attorneys are subject to unjustified or frivolous claims made against them,” Servidio said. “Attorneys covered under Zurich's professional liability program will have an opportunity to have a team of experienced claims specialists who can help handle a difficult situation with a client.”
“Marsh is pleased to be working with Zurich and looks forward to delivering superior service to Zurich and its participating attorneys for many years to come,” said Roy S. Lyons, managing director of Marsh.
Attorneys with Zurich-issued lawyers’ professional liability policies are encouraged to call 877-783-5434 to initiate the steps required to authorize the transfer of records to Marsh. Attorneys not currently accessing the Zurich-issued Professional Liability program can call the same number to learn how they can participate.
