Posted on 18 Sep 11

The Hartford will provide the National Wildlife Federation's 4 million members, partners and supporters with access to its auto and home insurance through a special program that offers discounted rates in most states.

"We are happy to partner with the National Wildlife Federation, America's largest conservation organization now in its 75th year of protecting the country's wildlife," said Andy Napoli, president of Consumer Markets at The Hartford. "We look forward to offering the National Wildlife Federation members a variety of products that have environmentally friendly features to help meet their home and auto insurance needs."

The National Wildlife Federation works with communities across the country to protect and restore wildlife habitat, confront global warming and to encourage people to connect with nature.

"National Wildlife Federation chose The Hartford because of their commitment to conservation," said Julie Blessyn, vice president, Business Affairs for National Wildlife Federation. "We're proud to be associated with the innovative options that support conservation values through green lifestyle choices."

The Hartford's Going Green Initiatives

The Hartford has a long-standing commitment to supporting green initiatives. The company has insured renewable energy risks, including solar, wind and geothermal, for more than 20 years. Recently, The Hartford enhanced its homeowners insurance products with several new green features, including incentives for making eco-friendly home upgrades and insurance coverage for home-based electric vehicle charging stations. The company offers auto policyholders a premium discount when insuring hybrid vehicles. The company also recently installed electric vehicle charging stations on all of its Connecticut campuses.
