Hub International Midwest (Hub), a leading insurance brokerage firm, announced today that Emily Olson, Senior Vice President, was honored by the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation's (IICF) Midwest Division, at their 2nd Annual Blazing the Trail Dinner at an event that took place on March 14th at Chicago's Palmer House.
Ms. Olson was selected as a recipient of the Frontier Award, recognized for her outstanding community service work as an Ambassador to Hope Network, a nonprofit organization in Grand Rapids, serving families who have children afflicted with autism. As a mother caring for a daughter with autism, Emily is committed to educating political representatives and the public at large about the growing need to serve children and families dealing with this condition. She has been instrumental in working with politicians to successfully pass state legislation that provides assistance and financial support for autism care.
Emily works with Hope Network on fund raising efforts and created one of the largest and most successful events in Hope Network's 50-year history. Additionally, she has played an integral role in launching a new autism center in Grand Rapids. This center has given many children with autism a chance for a better life and has provided hope for families around the state and across the country.
"We are extremely proud of Emily and her tremendous community service efforts," said Randy Koch, Chief Executive Officer, Hub Midwest. "Her dedication to serving Hope Network is a great example of the importance that Hub International places on giving back to our local communities."
