One of our Peak Performance Best Marketing Ideas this past January involved how to help our attendees get more out of the annual conference. The Peak Performance conference brings together insurers, wholesalers, program administrators, agencies and brokerages to network, pinpoint available specialty markets and programs, and discuss industry trends and challenges and strategies to address these challenges.
Alastair Dart of Rattner Mackenzie Ltd., who attended the Peak Conference for the first time this year, suggested this worthwhile idea:
“One effective way of promoting business relationships at the Peak is to create a publication (booklet) that is categorized into industry sectors -- Agents/Brokers/Carriers/ Administrators – with a single page for each Company attending,” said Alastair. He recommended that each page detail the following:
1. Company Name & Address
2. Attendee Name(s)
3. ID Photograph(s)
4. Key Lines of Program Business
5. Conference Expectation/Target outcome/Growth areas
6. A Space for Business Cards (pocket or perforated sleeve)
“The booklet will be placed on tables at the start of the conference,” says Alastair, “that way attendees will be able to identify potential partners right at the onset.”
Additionally, Alastair recommends taking this idea further by making the above information accessible to attendees through the Peak Performance website following conference registration, along with pre-conference forums (online discussions) about general market issues that may also provide some ideas for Peak Performance Panel discussions.
We’ll be looking to making improvements to the annual conference to better serve our attendees, and see how we can incorporate Alastair’s idea and others at the next Peak Performance Conference in 2010.
