Lisa Parry Becker, chair of the Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet), announced today that Steven D. Johnson has been named chief executive officer of the association.
Johnson is an association professional with deep experience working with entrepreneurial business owners to improve their firms’ profitability and success, said Parry Becker, vice president at Langhorne, Pa.-based William B. Parry & Son, Ltd.
He has held staff leadership roles in five associations over the last 26 years. Most recently, he was executive director of the National Association of Quick Printers.
Parry Becker said Johnson immediately brings to ASCnet skills in staff and volunteer leadership; meeting and trade show management; financial management; strategic planning and implementation; membership recruitment and retention; internal and external communication; new program development; and marketing. “As a chief executive, Steve has worked closely with an engaged volunteer board and committee members to create a vision, strategic plan and a corresponding plan of work that delivers increased value to the membership,” she said. “He understands the challenges facing small business and is committed to providing them with education and resources to help them be successful.”
His experience in leading associations through transition times will be vital as ASCnet moves its headquarters to a new location in suburban Chicago later this year, Parry Becker noted.
Johnson succeeds Rick Morgan, who had served over the last 10 months as interim CEO.
