The Real Time/Download Campaign's April 9 Real-Time Day will feature a live webinar for retail agents, general agents and excess and surplus lines carriers titled "Real Time is Coming to the E&S Industry."
Led by a team from the E&S Joint Working Group (ESJWG), the session will demonstrate how retail agents are developing the capability to use real-time tools to quote excess and surplus lines and specialty business with general agents. The webinar also will cover how general agents and E&S carriers, in turn, are laying the groundwork for multiple-carrier quoting using customized ACORD XML standards. The E&S Joint Working Group is an insurance industry coalition pushing standards-based electronic exchange of information in the E&S market by facilitating discussion and interaction among carriers, agents and vendors.
ESJWG team member Greg Ricker of Atlantic Casualty Insurance Co. in Goldsboro, NC, explained: "Data exchange between E&S wholesalers and carriers can be difficult and time-consuming. It must be simplified for the industry to grow and meet changing customer needs."
Added team member Lisa Parry Becker of William B. Parry Agency in Langhorne, Pa.: "This webinar will cover the exciting progress the E&S industry is making to develop more efficient workflows and how retail agents, general agents and E&S carriers can get involved -- and benefit."
The webinar will run from 11:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. EDT. Participants must pre-register here: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/659235960.
Real Time is the ability to click on a button from a client file in the agency management system or comparative rater for immediate access to carrier information on that client. The transaction may be a quote, billing inquiry, claim inquiry/loss run, policy view, endorsement or a request for information.
Real Time Day, which will feature a variety of web broadcasts, discussions and presentations, is designed to convince non-user agencies to try Real Time and Download capabilities, get user agencies to extend and enhance what they're already doing and assist carriers and general agencies with best-practice real-time implementations.
For example, another of the live webinars planned for the day is titled "Best Practice" Real-Time Implementation Strategies for Carriers & Vendors, which will take place from 12:00-1:00 p.m. EDT and is designed for carrier and general agency implementers. This webinar will also require pre-registration at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/979898377.
About the Real Time/Download Campaign: Launched in 2007, the Real Time/Download Campaign (www.GetRealTime.org) is dedicated to improving the competitiveness of the independent agency distribution channel. The campaign isn't advocating a specific technology, but a workflow approach that frees up more time for agencies to sell, process and service business. Most agents can leverage tools already contained in their agency management systems or comparative raters. Campaign participants include agents, brokers, carriers, technology providers, user groups, and agent and industry associations.
About The E&S Joint Working Group: Formed in 2008, the group is an alliance of carriers, agents and vendors working with AAMGA, ACORD, ACT and NAPSLO. Its mission is to improve the efficiencies for retail agents, general agents, wholesale brokers and carriers by promoting use of ACORD standards, best-practice workflows and the electronic exchange of data among each of the business partners. The group comprises retail agent/general agent, carrier and Lloyd's subgroups. www.ESJWG.org
