Victor O. Schinnerer & Company announces plans to create an advisory panel of architecture firms. The panel will keep Schinnerer apprised of emerging issues and professional practice challenges affecting the design industry.
“Staying close to the industries we serve has always been a priority at Schinnerer,” said Kate Frownfelter, Senior Vice President and manager of Schinnerer’s architects, engineers, contractors and consultants programs. “The creation of this panel of architects will provide us with regular feedback that we will use to tailor and shape our insurance coverages to address architects’ real and present needs.”
The panel will consist of architecture firms of all sizes and specialties. Convening on a regular basis, the advisory panel will provide Schinnerer with general guidance on the insurance needs of architects. In turn, Schinnerer will solicit the panel’s input when developing and implementing changes to its insurance products for architects.
The creation of the architect advisory panel comes on the heels of Schinnerer’s decision to no longer seek commendation from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) which formerly provided information on emerging issues affecting architectural practice that the advisory panel will now do.
While the commendation with AIA will cease on December 31, 2011, there is no change in the substance, cost, or features of Schinnerer’s insurance programs. Premium discounts to qualified architecture firms with AIA members will continue to be offered. Schinnerer will continue to support the AIA’s Knowledge Communities and other areas of the AIA at the national, state and local levels on legislative and risk and practice management issues.
