Cooper Gay Re North America Appoints Ron Carlier as New CEO

Cooper Gay ReShaun Hooper, President and Chief Executive Officer of CGSC - Swett & Crawford North America, announced today the appointment of Ron Carlier as Chief Executive Officer of its reinsurance subsidiary Cooper Gay Re North America.  Carlier was hired to expand the group's already strong reinsurance capabilities in the United States.  The commencement of Mr. Carlier's new role will be June 1st, 2013 reporting to Hooper and residing in New York.

Carlier will be accountable for the group's US reinsurance strategy as well as developing treaty capabilities alongside their growing facultative proposition.

Carlier has held a number of senior positions at high profile companies throughout his 38 year career.  He spent 1988 - 2005 at RK Carvill, a private international intermediary where he rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer.  Before that, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Minet Re, part of JH Minet, a large publicly quoted international broker.

Carlier has extensive expertise in the International reinsurance/insurance markets and a demonstrable ability to attract, manage and motivate teams of high achieving producers and brokers.
