ASCnet St. Louis has been recognized as 2013 Chapter of the Year by Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet) at TENCon 2013, the Technology, Education and Networking Conference co-hosted last month with Applied Systems in Las Vegas.
"The award recognizes a local ASCnet chapter that demonstrates excellent organizational leadership skills, provides consistently strong education programs and networking opportunities, and does a great job of engaging local members," said ASCnet Chair Leslie Lacroix, CIP, CRM, who presented the award. "ASCnet St. Louis has achieved success in each of these areas."
"I'm thrilled to see our local volunteers recognized for the hard work they do," said Chapter President Roberta Illert, an accountant at Yavitz Insurance Agency in St. Louis. "They are passionate about ASCnet and our chapter. They've done a great job building a strong local presence to support fellow members in the area."
"The chapter has been particularly successful in reaching out to prospective and current members," added Lacroix, who serves as director of operations for Southland Insurance Brokers Inc. in Windsor, Ontario. "The number of Applied Systems clients is growing, and ASCnet St. Louis has done a great job of engaging these new users to demonstrate to them the benefits the ASCnet membership."
Illert said, "We've worked really hard over the last couple of years to keep our members and other Applied Systems users up-to-date on what's going on. This has led to increased attendance at chapter meetings, where some really great presenters have shown attendees how to get the most out of their systems."
The award was accepted on behalf of the chapter by Christine Forbes, vice president of technology and training manager at The Daniel & Henry Co. in St. Louis and past member of ASCnet’s Board of Directors.
ASCnet St. Louis chapter officers include: Roberta Illert, accountant at Yavitz Insurance Group, Town & Country, Mo., president; Janice Bittle, office manager at Taylor, Dodd & Wood Insurance, Anna, Ill., vice president; Kathy Hembree, secretary-treasurer at Clark-Lami-Hembree Inc, Manchester, Mo., secretary and 2012 vice president; Tricia Kozik, former corporate trainer at Charles. L. Crane Agency, St. Louis, 2012 secretary; and Carol DeLargy, agency manager at Jerome L. Howe Inc., St. Louis, treasurer.
In recognition of its accomplishment, ASCnet St. Louis receives an engraved Chapter of the Year Award, an engraved Chapter of the Year gavel, a banner to use at local meetings, $1,000 to help fund future meetings, and additional communication and visibility support.
