National Interstate Insurance Company is domiciled in Ohio and is licensed to write property and casualty insurance, including automobile insurance, in 50 states and the District of Columbia. National Interstate is an independently operated subsidiary of Great American Insurance Company and Underwriting Manager for Great American's public transportation and RV insurance programs.
National Interstate Corporation was incorporated in 1989, and has prospered thanks to the vision and hard work of our people. Initially, our main products included insurance for commercial fleets of motor coaches and buses. Since then, we have expanded into other product lines as well, including our Hawaii Operations, Recreation Vehicle, Trucks, and Flood Insurance. We find our niche specializing in transportation and specialty personal lines insurance and choose to focus our efforts in these markets.
National Interstate has been rated A- (excellent) by A.M. Best since their initial rating. They have been profitable every year since inception, and are currently a $120+ million Company. In recent years, they have grown by approximately 20% per year, and continue to meet or exceed their goals as a Company. They now have over 200 employees in 4 offices across the country, including the beautiful corporate headquarters located in Richfield, Ohio.
