ACORD's Life Architecture Working Group has named a new chairperson, announced Lloyd Chumbley, Program Manager of Life Standards, ACORD.

As chair of the working group, David Olson, visioneering director, MIB, Inc., will be responsible for reviewing the issues related to transaction processing as well as the overall management of the specification documents including the representation of the Life model in UML and the definition of XML attachments.

Other duties of the chair include organizing members of the working group to review maintenance requests relative to XML for Life Insurance and TXLife prior to ACORD's Subcommittee meeting, which take place each June and November.

"MIB is very excited about our continued relationship with ACORD. We feel that our strong support of ACORDs standards initiatives is one of the best ways we can serve our membership. The work that they are doing, with the help of industry participation, will help our membership achieve the sort of efficient, secure, and tightly-integrated communications that the industry needs." said Olson.

MIB is a long-term supporter of the ACORD XML for Life insurance standards. In October of last year, MIB hosted a Life Forms Working Group meeting at their Boston headquarters. The Life Architecture working group will play a vital role in the current focus on transactions within the Life standards.

The working group will meet on June 13-14 in Lenexa, Kansas and be hosted by LabOne. LabOne, founded in 1972, is a leading provider of risk assessment information to life insurance companies.
