ProgramBusiness.coms parent company, National Marketing Services http://www.programbusiness.com/tracking/sftracker.asp?SFid=128 co-hosted Januarys Peak Performance Conference with Jack Fries of Fries & Fries Consulting. The Insurance Journal recently published a letter from Conference attendee Marc Kaplan: I had the pleasure of attending the Peak Performance Insurance Ski conference in Copper, Colo. recently. The event was orchestrated by Larry Neilson, president of National Marketing Services, Jeff Neilson, president of programbusiness.com and Jack Fries, principal of Fries & Fries Consulting. Along with enjoying three days of skiing, the three days of networking and conversing with my fellow agents and company representatives proved very valuable. Those attending the Peak Performance are a small group of insurance professionals (49) that lent itself to asking questions of the insurance company representatives...which at times were very direct. It also gave me a sense of knowing that there are other agents in the U.S. that are experiencing everything I experience in California. The feeling that the insurance carrier has left the building and good luck with your insureds! Another added bonus was the amount of business that was conducted on the programbusiness.com trading floor. Approximately $20 million of premium was picked up by the various companies in attendance. When put on the spot, Nick Gassman, GE Commercial Specialty, David Jordan, AIG Lexington and Les Woods, The St. Paul, were gracious and open to hearing our concerns. We had the opportunity to address reduced commissions, insurance training programs for our staff and potential staff, and, pulling out of an already rock-hard market. All of these issues were fired at each of these panel members. Each one either offered to get back to us or replied with an answer that made us feel better, or at least informed, about our future. We also touched on terrorism insurance and why in an age of fast paced Internet savvy people does the DOI still prefer to offer us limited information on their Web site? Fun on the slopes, but also an opportunity to tackle some major issues that our industry faces.
